The Town of Sellersburg council voted to terminate the town's contract with the law firm Stowe King Ogden (SKO) after council and staff discussed changes in the firm's staffing. The planning commission previously voted to retain planning legal services with a different firm; council approved termination of the SKO contract so the planning commission's proposed contract can be presented for council review.
A councilmember moved to terminate the SKO contract and the motion passed by voice vote. Staff said the planning commission will receive the new contract (identified during the meeting as being with another firm) and then present that contract to the council for review and formal action.
No final contract with the replacement firm was adopted at this meeting; the council action ended the existing engagement and allowed the planning body to proceed with its selected counsel.
