Sellersburg authorizes new phone system for town hall and billing office

The Town of Sellersburg council approved the purchase of a replacement phone system for town hall and the billing office during its Oct. 27 meeting.
Staff presented the proposal and identified a one-time charge of $3,309.13 and recurring monthly charges listed in the materials; the council moved, seconded and approved the purchase by voice vote. The clerk-treasurer and town manager advised the town provided a two-week review period for council consideration and received no objections during that time.
Council members said the new system will provide value to staff and residents by modernizing call handling for town offices. Staff were directed to sign the contract and initiate implementation with the vendor following the vote.
