The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education received recommendations from an ad hoc committee on Oct. 15 that had drafted a board guardrails evaluation process and accompanying scoring tool. Committee members presented their work and the board discussed next steps.
Several members said the draft represents substantial work but argued incoming board members should have an opportunity to review and influence any final evaluation process. The board agreed to table the item and revisit it after the new board is sworn in; members emphasized they did not intend to discard the work but to allow the new board to make final determinations.
Administration will note the ad hoc committee's deliverable in board records and make materials available to incoming members for consideration after the swearing-in.
