Lancaster ISD presents unaudited August 2025 financial report; audit due in January

District finance staff presented Lancaster ISD's August 2025 financial reports during the Oct. 30 board meeting, describing tax receipts, revenue drivers, food service operations, debt service savings and the ongoing audit.
A finance presenter told trustees that August net adjustments for taxes (refunds, returned checks, transfers and protest-related credits) resulted in a net send back of $434,025.62. Staff emphasized the reports are unaudited and that the district's comprehensive audit is in progress; the auditor's report is expected to be presented to the board in January.
The presenter listed the district's top revenue drivers for August as property taxes and TEA formula funding and noted primary expenditure drivers are instruction and maintenance and operations. In the debt-service section, staff reported a direct saving from a 2025 refunding of $5,521,454 since 2021.
Food service financials were presented as an income statement showing TDA claims for meals and the district's third-party vendor expenditures. Staff said the highest food-service expenditure is payments to the third-party vendor.
Board members had no substantive questions on the record and staff offered to return with audited figures and any needed clarifications in January.
