The Oregon City Planning Commission on July 23 unanimously continued annexation application AN01-03 at the staff's request so the applicant can resolve outstanding service‑delivery questions before annexation proceeds.
Staff presented a memo from assistant planner Sean Cook asking that the commission grant a continuance to a date uncertain while applicant Harold Schultz resolves issues about utility and service delivery to the property. Staff recommended the continuance be scheduled before the March election to allow the annexation to appear on the ballot if the applicant proceeds.
Commissioners asked how far ahead the file would need to be processed to make the March ballot; staff said the processing would likely need to be completed by the commission’s first meeting in December. Staff also told the commission the applicant did not need to waive the 120‑day review period for the continuance to proceed.
A motion to continue AN01-03 to a date uncertain but before the March election was moved, seconded and carried by unanimous roll call. Commissioners voting "aye" included Commissioner Orson, Commissioner Mingelberg, Commissioner Main, Commissioner Bailey and Chairperson Carter.
Staff will keep the applicant apprised of filing and ballot deadlines; no new hearing date was set at the time of the motion.
