Council approves annexation and zoning change for 2215 Wentworth Avenue

Alderman Bonnie opened a public hearing under "65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11‑15.1 through 3" and said notice of the hearing ran in the Rockford Register Star. Alderman Meeks asked whether the property owner would be responsible for city water and sewer connection costs; staff confirmed the owner pays the normal connection fees.
At committee the Code & Regulation recommendation stated the owner purchased the parcel from the county trustee and requested annexation to obtain city water and sewer service. The committee also recommended sustaining the zoning board of appeals decision approving the rezoning, subject to conditions; the legal director was directed to prepare the appropriate ordinances. Council adopted the ordinances by roll call.
