The Jefferson County Health and Human Relations Commission reviewed a proposed strategic plan framework during its Oct. 22 meeting and asked members to read the draft and provide feedback before the next session.
"If you wouldn't mind reading it and being, like even just a yes or no would be meaningful," said Gigi, an HHRC member, urging participation from the group. The draft includes five priority areas and possible mission and vision statement revisions; commissioners suggested aligning the plan with work already underway by Bethany Legacy Foundation and LiveSpring.
Members identified homelessness, health care (including cessation and sobriety resources) and funding/sustainability for HHRC as primary priorities in the framework. The commission agreed to invite a representative from the Bethany Legacy Foundation to meet with the group and to ask Dora for input on possible collaboration and funding alignment.
A subcommittee meeting that had been scheduled was postponed because several members had not yet reviewed the document; the group asked each member to return comments or a simple approval so the subcommittee can reconvene with input.
Commissioners discussed outreach and coordination with community partners as part of plan development; Gigi said the goal is to produce a team-driven plan rather than a document authored by a single member.
