The Public Building Authority Subcommittee heard that a demolition crew ruptured a two-inch gas main while working at a county property and that crews responded to isolate and restore service without injuries or damage.
Keith, a staff member, said he received a call from the demolition crew reporting a ruptured gas line feeding several buildings at 741 Northeast 203rd Street. The line supplies the D1 shop buildings, the treasurer's shop building, the old Social Services building and auxiliary buildings in the complex. Staff met ONG (Oklahoma Natural Gas) on site to identify the affected feeds, disconnected services as necessary, and had crews on site restoring service and ensuring appliances fed by those lines were working properly. "We managed to go through the afternoon without any problems, no issues. No 1 was hurt. No damage to the property whatsoever," Keith said.
The subcommittee moved and seconded to receive the report by voice vote. The transcript does not record follow-up actions beyond on-site restoration or whether any formal incident report will be filed.
