The council formally swore in Peter Grant as Yorba Linda’s new city manager and later honored Assistant City Manager Dave Christian, who announced his retirement after 16 years with the city.
Mayor Janice Lim introduced Peter Grant and presented a proclamation welcoming him. Grant, who said he had completed his first seven days on the job, told the council: “I will do everything every day I can to serve this community honorably, and ensure that it remains a fantastic place to live.”
Later in the meeting the council presented a commemorative plaque and certificates from federal and state elected officials to Dave Christian. The council recognized Christian’s finance and management roles spanning more than a decade and praised his steady leadership. Christian thanked the council and staff and said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve the city.
