Emeryville council fills advisory seats, approves art purchase and procedural changes

The Emeryville City Council on Oct. 21 appointed members to multiple city advisory bodies, approved a one‑night noise waiver for a construction project, authorized purchase of two artworks for the ECCL building, and amended its rules of procedure to set regular meetings to begin at 7 p.m.

Council action focused on filling seats on the Bike & Pedestrian Advisory Committee, the Budget Advisory Committee, the Parks & Recreation Committee, the Commission on Aging and the Housing Committee. Each appointment followed a brief staff overview, opportunity for applicant remarks and council discussion. Council also approved an overnight noise waiver for a Horton Street construction project and accepted the Public Art Committee’s recommendation to purchase two large oil-on-canvas works for ECCL Building A.

The appointments add community and business representatives to advisory panels that provide recommendations on transportation, budget, parks programming, senior services and housing policy.
