District communications staff provided a strategic-plan and communications update during the Oct. 27 board meeting, highlighting increased digital reach, expanded temporary support and an internship program, and projects connected to the district’s 75th anniversary.
Staff said district Facebook reach had grown substantially over the past year and that Instagram reach is an area for continued growth. Administrators reported the communications office hired a temporary part-time staff member through December to support website management and a three-intern program (two 11th graders and one 12th grader) to help produce district content. Communications staff said they provide monthly newsletters, school-level supports, and crisis/media response assistance, and they cited a March-through-November schedule of publications and digital projects.
As part of the anniversary work, staff described a storytelling series (video interviews and short features) and previewed a forthcoming '75 Years of Impact' magazine the district plans to print this fall/winter and again later in the year. The presentation included a highlight reel of recent district communications work and examples of social-media posts being emulated across schools.
