Minutes and warrants The board approved the regular board meeting minutes for Oct. 14, 2025. The motion (Merced Zamora, second John Alvarez) passed with a recorded vote of 3 yes, 0 no and 1 abstention (Freddy Espinosa).
The board approved the release warrants dated Oct. 9, 2025 in the amount of $812,403.12 and Oct. 16, 2025 in the amount of $229,756.92. The motion (John Alvarez, second Freddy Espinosa) carried.
Donations, trips and curriculum The board accepted two Kiwanis donations: one to the Farmersville Junior High Builders Club (motion Merced Zamora; second Freddy Espinosa) and one to the Farmersville Junior High FFA Club (motion Freddy Espinosa; second Merced Zamora); both motions carried.
The board approved AVID student trips to Stanford University and San Jose State University on Nov. 17, 2025 (motion John Alvarez; second Merced Zamora) and approved revisions to the 2025–26 school plan for Chester Elementary (motion Bridal/Freddy Espinosa; second Merced Zamora). The board also approved an amendment for an independent contractor speech-language pathologist for the 2025–26 school year (motion John Alvarez; second Freddy Espinosa). All motions carried.
Personnel and other business Item 13.1 (classified personnel approvals) was approved (motion John Alvarez; second Merced Zamora). A personnel action report was presented for information only. The board approved the Tulare County Office of Education state preschool program meals and adopted budget revision report number 1 after presentation (motions carried). The board also received a citizens oversight committee update on the GO bond.
GO bond audit reports The board voted to adopt GO bond audit reports for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 after a staff presentation. The 2023 audit reflected revenue from the district’s first bond issuance and reported total assets of about $2.7 million after fees with no findings. The 2024 audit showed about $2.9 million in total assets, including roughly $169,000 in interest earnings, and likewise reported no findings; the motions to adopt the audits carried.
Closed session and adjournment The board recessed to closed session to discuss labor negotiations and personnel/legal matters (Gov. Code sections cited during the meeting). Upon returning to open session the board reported no action was taken in closed session and adjourned at about 8:18 p.m.
