The Duarte City Council voted unanimously Oct. 28 to appoint Councilmember Finley as the city's representative to the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, with a four-year term ending Dec. 31, 2029.
City staff told the council that Councilmember Finley currently serves on the district board and that the appointment would avoid a lapse in the city's representation. Council discussion included the district's regular meeting schedule (second Friday of each month at 7 a.m.) and acknowledgment of Finley's long tenure on mosquito and vector matters.
The council adopted the resolution by voice vote. The motion was made and seconded on the record and recorded as carried by unanimous "Aye." The mayor and council asked to be notified if additional meetings would require alternates or if scheduling adjustments were necessary for council calendars.
