Pinellas board adopts amendment to Policy 22-50 to incorporate district application program updates

The Pinellas County School Board on Oct. 28 approved the second reading of an amendment to Policy 22-50, which incorporates the district application program (DAP) policy manual by reference and updates program names, terminology, application areas and transportation boundaries.
Leanna Eisen, director of strategic planning and policy, told the board the substantive edits are in the attached DAP policy manual and that the one change since first reading corrects "adjusted transportation areas for the Northeast High School Academy of Information Technology," which had been omitted from the first reading. "These recommendations are a result of continuous improvement efforts and support fiscal and operational responsibility," Eisen said.
Board member Mrs. Long moved approval; Mrs. Kane seconded. The board voted 7 to 0 to adopt the amendment on second reading.
The board noted the item had been reviewed at a September workshop and at the first reading on Sept. 23. The amendment makes the DAP manual part of board policy by reference; district staff said additional substantive rules remain documented in the attached manual.
