United Way representative asks North Ogden to adopt 'Boulder Way Forward' resolution endorsing women, girls and families initiative

Danielle Nevisailov of United Way of Northern Utah presented the Boulder Way Forward initiative during the Oct. 28 council meeting, asking North Ogden to consider adopting a resolution to formally become a local partner. The program is described in staff materials and the presenter as a statewide, multi‑year framework to improve outcomes for women, girls and families across categories including education, workplace, health and safety.

Nevisailov said the movement’s backbone is the Utah Women in Leadership Project at Utah State University and that eight Utah jurisdictions had already adopted resolutions, listing Carbon County, Salt Lake County, San Juan County and the cities West Valley City, Midvale, North Logan, North Salt Lake and Mill Creek. She said a resolution would be flexible and could be tailored to local priorities, and the Boulder Way Forward team would provide outreach, presentations and an opportunity to be listed as an official partner on its website.

Council members thanked the presenter and asked for a follow-up presentation that would identify practical next steps the city and local schools or community organizations could take if a resolution were approved. Council member Severny specifically asked the presenter to return with actionable items for schools and city programs so the council could evaluate the resolution beyond a statement of support.

No formal action was taken; the council invited staff and the presenter to return with a community‑specific set of possible steps the city could take if it adopted a resolution.
