The Water and Wastewater Committee reviewed and approved a recommendation to declare several pieces of aging equipment surplus.
Staff listed equipment proposed for surplus, including a 1997 Case backhoe, a 1984 Ford boom crane truck and a 1988 dump truck, and said the units remain partially operable but are no longer considered the safest options for fieldwork. Committee members asked whether replacements were in service; staff replied that a 2014 Freightliner and other replacement vehicles (including 2024 and 2025 dump trucks) had been purchased and were in service.
A motion to declare the listed items surplus was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. The meeting record does not include estimated resale values, surplus process timelines or final disposition plans for the equipment.
