The Park and Recreation Committee voted to approve two bookings at the Park Theater: country singer Larry Fleet and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Park Theater staff described Larry Fleet as an "up-and-coming" country artist and noted multiple audience requests for the act. Committee members moved and seconded approval; the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff also presented the Fabulous Thunderbirds for an April 11 date, noting the group requires back-line equipment (amplifiers, keyboards and a drum kit). Staff said the theater already has a drum set purchased last year and estimated additional nightly costs of "a couple of hundred dollars" for the remaining amplifiers and equipment. Committee members moved and seconded the booking for the Fabulous Thunderbirds; that motion likewise passed by voice vote.
The Park Theater representative previewed additional programming, saying the theater will host a Yacht Rock-style show in early December, an upcoming production of Shrek the Musical in November featuring many local participants, and late-night Halloween screenings with ID requirements for minors.
Committee members did not record a dissent in the meeting record. No financial contract amounts, deposit terms or final ticket pricing were included in the discussion recorded in the transcript.
