Pottsgrove board approves routine accounts, personnel, energy contract and two budget-related resolutions

The board approved a contract to enroll the district in a demand‑response program with NRG Energy, a program that provides incentives for reducing electrical usage during peak hours. Louis Coramines, reporting later in the operations & finance committee summary, said the program could “bring in an additional approximately 20 k or so depending on the amount of electric reduction done.”
Members approved the modernization of the elevator at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary after administration explained that the existing elevator’s software is no longer serviced and parts should be ordered in advance of a planned replacement. Administration noted long lead times for parts; Mister Linke said there is “about a 14 to 16 week lead time for the parts, and then there’s a 5 week installation. So we’re looking at 20 weeks potentially.”
The board also approved two resolutions related to the state budget: a resolution directing administration to withhold all charter school payments until the Commonwealth enacts a state budget, and a companion resolution urging the Pennsylvania General Assembly to end the budget impasse. Both resolutions passed on voice votes.
Other approved education items included early graduation for two students, a memorandum of understanding with Mission Kids to provide online safety training, a memorandum of understanding with the YWCA for two middle-school mentoring programs, the appointment of one mentor teacher, and approval for four staff to attend the Pennsylvania Education Technology Expo and Conference on Feb. 4, 2026 (the agenda incorrectly listed 2025). The board also approved four district policies and two attachments related to parent and family engagement.
Most motions were approved on voice votes with no recorded opposition noted in the meeting transcript.
