YIPAC seeks Ward 3 applicant; November meeting date will conflict with HRC

A motion to approve the Sept. 25 meeting minutes was made and seconded; the chair called for the ayes and the motion carried. No mover or seconder were named on the record.
Commissioners announced the commission is still seeking an applicant to fill the Ward 3 vacancy. Commissioners said the city prefers equal representation by ward but will consider any city resident who applies. One staff speaker summarized the city—s practical preference: priority to Ward 3 residents but any qualified city resident—s application would be considered.
Members noted scheduling adjustments for the November meeting because the normal date fell on Thanksgiving week. Staff said the Human Rights Commission will be meeting in the main room that night and YIPAC will use a downstairs conference room; deputy clerk Lisa Britton and clerk staff member John Tramp will support the commission in the November meeting. Commissioners also briefly discussed the upcoming local election (one item on the ballot) and several community events including trunk-or-treat activities and a county firefighter award.
A motion to adjourn was made, seconded and carried. The meeting ended following the vote. No roll-call tallies were recorded on the transcript for either procedural motion.
