Oklahoma County pension board approves annual participant mailing, OKs purchase of three judgments

The Oklahoma County Pension Board on Oct. 24 approved mailing its annual report to pension plan participants and received an update showing a $1,700,000 forfeiture balance.

John, a staff member, told the board the annual participant report summarizes the plan actuary—s findings and the financial audit and reminded members the report must be sent each year by Oct. 31. The board voted to authorize mailing the materials to retirees.

The board also received the monthly forfeiture report. John said the account held $1,700,000 through September and reminded the board that the minimum contribution for the year into the pension plan is $731,000. He said the board approved moving $731,000 to the pension plan at the previous meeting and that the transfer would be completed at the end of the month; the transfer was described in the meeting as pending.

The board approved the retirement eligibility of Diana Watson. John said Watson worked 24 years in the court clerk—s office and qualifies for retirement; the board moved, seconded and approved the retirement item.

Items 8, 9 and 10 were brought forward together for approval. John said the county has uninvested cash and staff had an opportunity, working with the district attorney—s office and others, to purchase three judgments. The board voted to take those three items together and approved proceeding with the purchases.

The board also adopted its regular meeting schedule for 2026 and then adjourned. Several routine motions (approval of minutes of Sept. 29, approval of the consent docket, receipt of reports) were made, seconded and approved by voice vote during the session.

No roll-call tallies or recorded dissent were noted in the transcript; actions were approved by voice vote with members saying "aye."
