Clerk announces Dollar General hearing, records shredding plan and several personnel and appointments on tomorrow's agenda

Sylvia Singleton of the commission office outlined several administrative items to come before the commission at the next meeting.
She said a public hearing will be held for Dollar General store number 31017 in Marbury (in Chilton County) and that excess-bid paperwork will be completed by the county attorney and presented. Singleton reported a reappraisal carryover amount (245,145.41) that the commission will be asked to carry forward to the new fiscal year to complete budgetary needs.
Singleton described a records-cleanup effort: staff have culled duplicate payroll printouts and other duplicate worksheets and intend to shred about 60 approved boxes of documents using a courthouse-designated LATCF fund; she estimated the shredding cost between $750 and $1,000 and said she will obtain a quote before proceeding.
She announced nominations for reappointment of Paula Mitchell to the Chilton-Clanton Public Library Board and a nomination of Stanley Varner for a DHR board vacancy, and she asked to correct prior pay-rate entries so two employees receive the intended increases. Singleton said the board of registrars will request a wage adjustment effective Oct. 1 and that those items will be placed on the next meeting agenda for formal consideration.
