The Hampshire County Commission entered executive session Oct. 28 to consider the possible sale of the Hampshire Health Center building, citing real-property and contract considerations.
Commissioners invoked the statutory exemption for deliberations about disposition of real property and invited only essential staff into the closed session. The clerk reported after the closed session that no minutes were taken and that no decisions or motions were made while in executive session.
After returning to public session, the commission instructed staff to continue pursuit of a sale or otherwise set an offering price for the Health Center building and to proceed with the process the commission had been following. Commissioners did not record a sale price or finalize a transaction during the meeting; the action was a direction to continue negotiations and marketing steps as appropriate.
