District outlines $1.5 million in 2025'026 facilities projects, including boilers, roofing and park upgrades

Completed work included replacement of obsolete controls on unit ventilators and a 1957 boiler at East (each receiving Focus on Energy rebates of just over $13,000), replacement of classroom flooring and toilet partitions at several elementary schools, renovation of a library last updated in 1989, repainting and lockset replacement at Northside, and roofing replacement (sections 5 and 6) at the high school. The high school project also included an upgraded PAC sound system.
District parks received resealed parking and walking paths, new picnic tables and benches, and replacement fencing. Steven said one remaining project for the fiscal year is the addition of field lighting for Soccer Practice Field Number 4; equipment is expected to be delivered in December and installed once the ground is frozen to minimize turf disturbance and heavy-equipment impacts, with the field operational for spring.
Board members thanked facilities staff for the work. Steven credited staff members and singled out Sarah Warren for compiling before-and-after documentation. No formal vote was required for the informational report, though the board later approved the budget that funds such work.
