The Parks and Recreation Commission accepted a donation from the Ziegler Family Foundation of three historical kiosks to be placed at the park of origin and other visible locations.
Staff said the Foundation has been working with the Tower Heritage Center to ensure photos, dates and information are accurate. The kiosks will display the history and importance of the site; staff estimated the donation value at about $5,000 and said installation would be performed by city crews. Staff added the kiosks are aluminum and intended to be low maintenance and that the sign/development review raised no regulatory concerns because the kiosks are informational rather than commercial.
Commissioners discussed visibility and size; staff said two kiosks will be near overhead lights and one will be nearby. A motion to accept the donation was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
