The commission approved a resolution to transfer funds from the recreation fund balance to cover construction expenses for the Westbury Bank Aqua Park until pledged donations are received.
Diane introduced the resolution and said the Recreation Division used a mix of donations and other sources to develop the aqua park this past summer. Diane told the commission Westbury Bank pledged $30,000 of a $60,000 commitment in 2025 and that the remaining $30,000 will be collected in $5,000 increments over the next six years. To balance the books while the installments are collected, staff asked to transfer $28,124.33 from the recreation fund balance to an expense account; staff said the overall project was executed within the planned budget.
Staff also announced donations during the meeting: a $25,000 second installment from the West Bend Friends of Parks and Recreation toward a previously announced $50,000 commitment; Westbury Bank’s first $5,000 installment; and a $1,000 gift from Roots and Branches for administrative support. A motion to accept the donations and to approve the fund transfer was made and seconded; ayes were recorded and the motions carried.
Provenance: The transfer resolution and donation announcements are recorded in the meeting packet and in discussion (transcript excerpts at 00:09:59–00:12:33 and 00:22:33–00:23:47).
