Chair Gibbs moved approval with a condition of follow-up with WPS to consider abandonment of the prior easement after final mapping; the motion carried (00:15:53).
Corporation counsel recommended denying a claim filed Oct. 22 by Marteli Ray because the claim was not filed with the county clerk and raised allegations against a state agency for which the county is not legally liable. Supervisor Lemmer moved to deny the claim; Supervisor Poole seconded and the committee voted to disallow the claim (00:18:39).
The committee authorized Supervisor Rosenberg to testify in support of AB 559 and companion SB 556, bills that would broaden the scope of state-collected utility valuation to include certain storage technologies; Rosenberg sought the committee's support and was directed to represent the committee before the assembly committee on local government (00:19:57).
Two contingency-fund requests were approved. The committee agreed to provide $5,000 toward the Synergy target industry and site readiness evaluation recommended by the Extension Education/Economic Development Committee (motion passed 3-2) (00:32:19). The committee also approved a $20,000 interim contribution to the Marathon County Historical Society for the U.S. 250th anniversary activities; administration recommended contingency funding and the motion carried (00:39:08).
Votes recorded in this meeting also included unanimous approval of the October minutes at the start of the session and a motion to adjourn at the end of the agenda (00:00:49; 01:27:05).
