Pulaski County approves status-quo franchise resolution for Windstream/Kinetic

Brian Burger, who said his firm was assisting the company with compliance, told the court the resolution preserves the franchise privilege to use county rights of way to place poles and bury lines. Burger said his role was administrative — "my law firm's role in this is just to administratively get in line with the Commonwealth of Kentucky regulations and laws" — and that the resolution does not change rates.
A motion to accept the resolution was made by Mister Ranshaw and seconded by Mister Strunk. The court voted in favor; no additional conditions were added, though a magistrate urged Burger to pass along constituent complaints about previous service quality.
The court clerk offered to provide copies of the resolution to interested parties by e-mail after the meeting.
