Panama City on Oct. 28 readopted two ordinances to formalize a neighborhood planning area district for Glenwood, Millville and Saint Andrews.
Staff explained the 2025 readoptions (Ordinances 32-19 and 32-23.1) will allow the city to transmit the previously adopted amendments to the state land planning agency after a notice showed no record of the prior transmittal. Staff said the text and map changes are identical to previously adopted measures; the readoption adjusts the adoption date so the city may meet the state’s transmittal timeline.
The planning board previously recommended approval unanimously, and no members of the public spoke in opposition during the Oct. 28 hearings. The commission approved both readoptions by roll call, 5-0.
What was decided: Ordinance 32-19 (future land use text establishing neighborhood planning area district) and Ordinance 32-23.1 (future land use map amendments for parcels within the Glenwood, Millville and Saint Andrews neighborhood plan study areas) were readopted and will be transmitted to the state land planning agency per statutory requirements.
