Judge urges Rashad Hill to prioritize child support after he reports new employment

Rashad Marquis Hill told Judge Tammy Long Hayward on Oct. 28, 2025, that he had just started a new job and planned to direct his first paycheck to child support arrears. Hill said his court-ordered total obligation was $400 and that he intended to pay regularly once wages were processed.
Judge Hayward admonished Hill to prioritize his child-support obligations and to think long-term about financial support and the effect on his children. She told him that small weekly amounts often fail to cover rent, clothing and other necessities, and that fathers who do not contribute consistently can cause avoidable hardship for their children.
The court released Hill and instructed him to keep paying the ordered support; the judge warned that future failures to pay would not be treated lightly.
