The court imposed a $150 fine for the improper-lane-change count; with statutory surcharges the total was explained to be roughly $224. Judge Hayward allowed Freeman time to pay and told her she could request up to 60 days but Freeman asked for 30 days. The judge instructed Freeman to collect her paperwork from the traffic-court desk on the second floor before leaving the building and advised that failure to pay could lead to an arrest warrant in the future.
Freeman told the court she would need extra time to pay and the judge explained options for paying in person at the traffic desk, online or by phone.
