Mayor Campbell Rich proclaimed Oct. 20–26, 2025 as Florida City Government Week at the City of Stuart commission meeting, citing the role municipal governments play in delivering services and connecting residents with local decision-making.
The proclamation, read aloud by Mayor Campbell Rich, noted that the Florida League of Cities and its member cities, including the City of Stuart, promote public understanding of municipal responsibilities and encourage citizen engagement in local government.
Mary Kendall, the City of Stuart's city clerk, accepted the proclamation and said the city will mark the week by posting photographs and short features about departments on the Stuart Life Facebook page. "We wanted to be a little more lighthearted this year," Kendall said, adding that staff would share photos and introductions to the city's departments.
No formal action beyond the proclamation was taken. The commission also hosted a brief arts presentation before proclamations were read; show dates for the Florida Arts and Dance Company were announced as Dec. 12–14 at the Lyric Theatre.
