Marty Hurwitz framed the process, explaining the initial list was compiled from commissioner priorities and weighted rankings. Commissioners agreed informally that projects already underway should be identified as continuing initiatives and that a smaller set of new or not‑yet‑funded items should be prioritized for additional work and possible inclusion.
Mister Bullock, the city manager, told commissioners staff could provide status updates on at least seven of the draft projects if the commission wanted them: Newtown economic development, the Sarasota Performing Arts Center/Van Weisel work, First Street, workforce housing inventory, St. Armands status, Rosemary District parking,…
