Committee grants bartender license to Patrice Lamigio with 90 merit points

Lamigio told the committee she has worked in food service for more than 20 years, holds a commercial driver’s license and operates a small business, Design by Honey. She said past offenses were more than two decades old.
Committee members reviewed written references and a “fly sheet” of her work history. One member noted a reference from Charmaine Harris and another from Nancy Moore, and said those endorsements weighed in favor of granting the license. A committee member advised Lamigio to pursue record expungement or a pardon to avoid future re-examination of her record.

Committee action: a motion to approve the license with 90 merit points carried after discussion and a vocal aye vote. The committee asked Lamigio to appear before full council on Monday, Nov. 3.
Why it matters: The committee used its discretion to weigh the age of offenses, corroborating references and the applicant’s employment history to allow licensure while documenting the conditional nature of the approval.
