Borger council approves final plat for Fairlands Unit 14, six lots in Loma Linda

The Borger City Council approved a final plat for Fairlands Unit 14 Block 1, creating six lots on a 2.59-acre tract in the east end of the Loma Linda neighborhood, council members said at the meeting.

City staff described the proposal as six lots with a cul-de-sac, alleys surrounding the lots, and the vacation of a 30-foot utility easement to enlarge one lot. “It would be the very East end of Loma Linda … It will have alleys surrounding the 6 lots and abandoning a utility easement to increase the size of 1 of the lots there,” the presenter, a city staff member, told the council at 00:10:27.

The presenter said the subdivision will include a 60-foot right-of-way and that the alley on the east side will connect into the existing Pinehurst alley that runs behind lots on Pinehurst. A resident raised a concern that a property currently using the alley as a driveway will be affected: “I bet he won't like that,” the resident said at 00:12:33.

Council discussion focused on clarifying the easement vacation and access. When asked whether the 30-foot easement would cease to be an easement if the plat were approved, a councilmember received confirmation from staff that the easement would be vacated and become part of the lot.

The council approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting, including the minutes of the regular meeting of 06/23/2025. A motion to approve the final plat was made and seconded; the chair called for the affirmative and said, “Aye. Motion carries.” The transcript records no roll-call tally or recorded dissent.
