Councilors debate need for a full financial audit as staff transitions continue

"I feel like at this point council needs to consider a full audit," Jesse said, adding that the request was not driven by allegations but by the complexity of recent personnel changes and information gaps.
Mayor Horton and other councilors acknowledged the value of an audit but urged coordination with staff, noting the city is in the middle of its annual audit and staff transitions. Todd, a city staff member, said that if council wishes to move forward, staff will prepare procurement documents for auditing services and bring a motion in November.
No formal motion to commission an audit was made at the meeting; councilors asked staff to return with procurement options and cost estimates for consideration.
