Public works and parks reports: street preservation, drainage project and holiday programming highlighted

City staff provided updates at the Oct. 27 Raymore council meeting on public works and parks operations.
Mister Salisbury reported that street preservation and curb projects are wrapping up and should be finished in the next two to three weeks. He said the Broadmoor and Grand Shire drainage project will start later in the week and continue into winter. Operations staff reported four large repairs on West Heritage that were completed successfully.
Parks & Recreation (Mister Mustin) summarized fall sports wrap‑up, reported the Paws & Pumpkins 5K turnout (40 humans and 12 dogs), and previewed upcoming events: the holiday craft fair Nov. 8 (about 60 vendors at the Raymore Activity Center), a Veterans Day salute with an honor wall and brick application process, and preparations for the mayor’s tree lighting and ice rink operations after Thanksgiving. He noted applications for honor wall recognition and for bricks that will be displayed next summer.
Staff invited council questions; none were recorded. The council will discuss GoodRanch Tract 1 at a Nov. 3 work session, staff said.
