Parks board reports disc-golf signage, pickleball expansions and $7,000 in fundraising for court resurfacing

Shelby told the council the board completed 18 new custom tee signs for the disc-golf course, coordinated a free lending library with the Lions Club and Tri-County Library, restriped tennis courts to expand pickleball play from two to four courts, installed windscreens and mobile nets, supported Julyfest and other events, and purchased a perweather (perimeter?) hazard detection system for park monitoring. The parks board has raised about $7,000 and has placed those funds toward planned tennis/pickleball court resurfacing.
Shelby said the board formed three subcommittees focused on grants/fundraising, trail upgrades and event support, and announced an planned Arbor Day event on Nov. 7, 2026. He thanked outgoing board officers and encouraged citizens to apply for vacancies.
