Local advocates preview mental-health events and student artwork on RTA buses

Lee Ann Fulford, speaking during the public-comment period Oct. 13, outlined upcoming mental-health awareness events and community partnerships that will display student artwork across public venues.
Fulford said the "Don't Ghost Your Feelings" event takes place Oct. 18 at the Delco Park Building for youth, and she encouraged attendance at a University of Dayton pep rally for mental health on Oct. 21. She credited Jay's Light as a sponsor of the district's art contest for suicide-prevention awareness and said students' designs are being placed on RTA buses, stickers, key chains, murals and banners.
Fulford said a ninth-grade student’s design will appear on RTA buses and that the partnership helps encourage student participation and public visibility for suicide-prevention messaging. The board took no formal action on the announcements during the meeting.
