City places Lincoln Christian Church Christmas event and Copper & Oak street closure on consent agenda

Miss Bateman described the Lincoln Christian Church request for a Hometown Christmas Bridal event on Dec. 5, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on North McLean Street between Pekin and Delavan streets. “This is the same thing they did last year… it's open to everybody,” Bateman said. Alderman Downes asked whether the event includes a horse-drawn carriage; staff confirmed there will be a carriage.
Bateman also presented a last-minute request from Copper & Oak to close Delavan Street between North Kickapoo and the alley from noon until 10 p.m. on the coming Saturday to accommodate an outdoor band and vendor trailer. The council placed both permit requests on the consent agenda.
Council members asked a few clarifying questions about carriage routing and traffic control; staff said they would confirm details if necessary before the event.
