HILLIARD, Ohio — The Hilliard City Council on Oct. 27 approved a conditional‑use permit allowing an existing tenant space at 3440 Heritage Club Drive (within the Heritage Lakes PUD) to operate as a 3,949‑square‑foot assembly hall for events, weddings and special events.
Staff said the tenant space has historically functioned as a flexible meeting and office area and that the site meets off‑street parking requirements for the proposed use. Planning & Zoning Commission voted 7–0 to recommend approval and staff recommended the same to council. Council adopted Resolution 25R87 by roll call (vote recorded as unanimous 7–0).
A resident who was unable to attend submitted written comment expressing concern about potential late‑night music and noise. Staff told council the applicant intends to comply with the city’s noise control code, and that event music levels would be lower than existing fitness‑class music played inside the facility. Staff said typical operations were expected to be evenings and weekends, and the tenant indicated a maximum occupancy of 225.
Council directed staff to ensure compliance with the noise code and to monitor any complaints that arise once the venue begins operations.
