Alpine advisory group approves minutes, moves forward on festival banners, venue tax rebate, musician directory and relief-fund planning

At a Nov. 1 meeting of a city music advisory group in Alpine, Texas, members approved minutes from their previous two meetings and outlined next steps on promotional and support programs for local musicians and venues.

The panel approved the minutes after Board member (Speaker 2) moved to approve and Board member (Speaker 3) seconded the motion. The chair recorded the motion as approved following an affirmative voice vote (moved by Board member (Speaker 2); seconded by Board member (Speaker 3); outcome: approved).

Much of the discussion centered on promotional and support efforts for Alpine—s music scene. Board member (Speaker 1) said the group had sponsored the Fort Davis Moon and Tunes Festival and the Bluegrass Festival and that the group obtained a small paid ad placement and two physical banners that emphasize the name "Alpine" for use at events.
