At its Oct. 28 meeting the City of Sydney council recorded the following formal actions:
- Approved a motion to excuse Councilmember Kirkman from the Oct. 28 meeting (roll-call affirmative).
- Approved minutes from the Oct. 14 city manager recruitment session and the Oct. 14 regular council meeting (roll-call affirmative).
- Adopted Resolution 20251002 certifying Clay H. Radke as the city's street superintendent for the year and appointed him as Class A street superintendent for Jan. 1 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026 (roll-call affirmative).
- Approved purchase of a John Deere 15-75 72-inch front-deck mower (net $34,147.68 after trade-in) and a John Deere Gator TX utility vehicle (net $9,985.27 after trade-in). The mower motion passed by roll call; the Gator motion passed with one recorded no vote by Councilmember Lee.
- Moved to complete procedural revisions to Ordinance 18-76 regarding customer classification and large-power contract language and tasked staff to prepare final ordinance language (roll-call affirmative).
- Rescheduled the Nov. 11 regular council meeting (Veterans Day) to Thursday, Nov. 13.
- Moved and approved entering closed session to discuss a golf audit and personnel matters related to the electrical department.
