After returning from closed session, the Los Angeles City Council on Oct. 3 authorized payment of attorney fees and interest in the case Tipton v. Whittingham. The council instructed the city attorney to pay $1,703,383 in attorney’s fees plus interest recorded to Oct. 17 in the amount of $41,934.26.
The authorization followed the closed-session discussion of the case. The council opened the roll and the item was approved on the floor with the clerk recording 10 ayes.
