Organizers report about 2,400 visitors at Scare on the Square; 10th anniversary plans under way

Nick Ramsey, an organizer with Scare on the Square, told the Leitchfield Tourism and Convention Commission the event ran from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. last week and at one point staff counted about 2,400 people on the square.
Ramsey said staff experimented with vendor layout to separate candy-only booths, create queueing lanes and keep food trucks slightly removed so visitors could more easily see offerings. "We did something a little different this year... we kind of put them in a certain section, to where people could line up for that if they did want to do that," Ramsey said, describing the layout changes.
He described strong social-media interaction and noted next year will be the event’s 10th anniversary; Ramsey asked the commission to consider additional funding or support next year to mark the milestone. The commission thanked organizers and offered continued support for the event’s planning.
