Edgar County board notes solar-farm and wind-ordinance public hearings; jail training and health events announced

The board also discussed holding a public hearing on proposed wind ordinance revisions on Nov. 17; logistics (time and location) were tentatively set to align with the board’s study session schedule.
Separately, a jail-project update noted no substantive design changes; the board discussed control-panel locations and tentative plans for a weeklong training session in January. The board described one control panel to be located in dispatch as a main override.
Public-health staff reported upcoming community events, including a women’s health event on Oct. 20 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a series of flu-shot clinics; the health department said a $100 Walmart gift card was donated as a prize for one event. Staff provided flyers and encouraged board members to share event information with residents.
No formal votes were taken on the solar or wind items at the meeting; both were noted as upcoming public hearings.
