Superintendent Desmond Rendell announced Oct. 28 that Erica Green has been promoted to assistant principal at Great Southwest Middle School.
Rendell congratulated Green; Green spoke briefly at the meeting, thanking the board, her parents Melvin Jackson and Sharon Turner, her husband David and her children Cole and Logan, and school colleagues including Rashad Wilson and Jasmine Delauder for their support across her 20-plus year career.
The board recessed briefly for a photo opportunity following the recognition.
