The Grandview City Board of Aldermen voted to enact Ordinance No. 7614, approving a real estate sales contract to sell a parcel of city property to the Grandview C‑4 School District.
City staff (Carrie) explained the parcel was purchased during an outer road conversion project with the expectation it might be needed for a roundabout or road work; that use did not materialize and the parcel is not required for municipal purposes. The school district owns an adjacent parcel and has indicated a proposed use.
Carrie said the sale is a transfer between public entities "for the public good" and that the city is selling the parcel for what it paid — not to generate profit. The ordinance authorizes the city administrator or designee to finalize contract terms with the school district's attorney and execute the sale.
The board advanced the bill through first, second and final readings with recorded affirmative votes and enacted it as Ordinance No. 7614.
