Jeff Chambers, CEO of the South County Chambers of Commerce, briefed the Grover Beach City Council on chamber activities and business outreach, describing local membership and programming and asking for continued collaboration.
Chambers said "Grover Beach businesses represent approximately 17% of our overall membership of our regional chamber" and that the chamber averages about 1.5 new Grover Beach members per month and has held four ribbon cuttings this year. He described three Grover Beach business meetings the chamber hosted (open to the public), six workshops at the Launch Pad coworking space focused on topics such as new labor rules and workers’ compensation, and 309 business outreach visits to Grover Beach firms so far this year.
Chambers noted the chamber’s role in promoting West Grand Avenue commercial spaces, helping with grand‑opening events, administering a micro‑grant program for West Grand Avenue businesses and producing a community visitor guide (approximately 3,000 copies). Looking ahead, he said the chamber will expand signature events and introduce new member benefits in 2026, and that the South County Chamber Foundation will operate as a 501(c)(3) starting in 2026.
Council members thanked the chamber for outreach and encouraged continuing collaboration on business attraction and the Launch Pad coworking location.
