Carroll County agrees to $75,000 contribution for DOT bridge right-of-way; item placed on consent

Danny Yates, director of public works, told the Board of Commissioners that the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) is proceeding with a bridge replacement in Carroll County and requested a county contribution of $75,000 toward right-of-way acquisition and any necessary utility relocation.

Yates said as with prior DOT projects, any unused funds will be returned to the county when the project is complete. Commissioners agreed that $75,000 is a reasonable contribution for a multi-million-dollar bridge project and placed the memorandum of agreement on the consent agenda for final action at the business meeting.
