Dave Wade, Carroll County fire chief, reported that a committee reviewed proposals to install FEMA-funded emergency generators at county stations. Of the two bidders who returned proposals, the committee scored Bokes Electric highest (92 out of 100) and recommended selecting that contractor to provide Caterpillar 40-kilowatt generators and pre-installation training and a two-year warranty.
Wade said the overall grant project total is $690,469.71 and that the county's local match, previously approved from SPLOST funds, is $172,617.43. He told commissioners the vendor's lead time for the generators is estimated at 20 to 26 weeks. Commissioners agreed to place the vendor selection on the consent agenda for the Tuesday business meeting.
